Julia Kulakova, Russian-born dancer from New York, celebrates the global urban culture as a mix of intellect and nomadic gypsy spirit. Artistic Director, Choreographer and Dancer Julia Kulakova and the Kulakova Dance Troupe promote the spirit of international, intercultural and gender understanding, respect and collaboration through the art of dance and drama from all over the world.

 

The Kulakova Dance Troupe is a unique artistic vehicle for fulfillment of a natural feminine desire to create and express beauty. The repertoire is the artistic interpretations of authentic folklore, culture and traditions; it's inspired by and set to contemporary music.The dances are based on the material, taught at Ms Kulakova's New York Gypsy Dance classes at the 92nd Y and the Jewish Community Center of Manhattan, where her dancers obtain and polish their skills.
